Terms of Use

Effective 19 August 2026 · Applies to the Forma app for iOS and Android

These terms are the agreement between you and Markuss Rencis and Eriks Kristians Selga, who operate Forma together (“Forma”, “we”, “us”), for the Forma app and the services behind it. By creating an account or using the app you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use Forma. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data and is part of this agreement.

1. Who can use Forma

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are a minor where you live, use Forma only with a parent or guardian’s permission, and they accept these terms on your behalf.

2. Your account

You sign in with Apple on iPhone or with Google on Android. Your Forma account is tied to that Apple ID or Google account, and you are responsible for everything that happens under it, so keep your device and that account secure. One account per person. You can sign out at any time, and you can delete your account and all of its data from Profile → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. If you sign in again afterwards, you start from scratch.

3. Health and safety

Important. Forma gives you exercise programming and exercise information. It is not medical advice, and Forma does not know your medical history.

Talk to a doctor before you start training with Forma if you have any condition that exercise could affect, if you are pregnant or recently gave birth, if you are recovering from an injury or surgery, or if you have any doubt about whether a program like this is safe for you.

Calisthenics and strength training carry real risk of injury. Pull-up bars, rings, barbells and dumbbells can hurt you if they are unsafe or used badly. Check your equipment and your anchors before every session.

Forma’s progressions, targets, weight suggestions and auto-progression are computed from what you log. They are suggestions from software, not the judgment of a coach who can see you. You decide what to attempt, and you decide how much to lift.

You can skip ahead in a skill tree whenever you like. Do it only when you are confident you can perform the harder exercise with good form.

Stop immediately if you feel pain, dizziness, shortness of breath or anything that feels wrong, and get medical help if you need it.

By using Forma you confirm that you understand these risks and that you take responsibility for your own training. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not responsible for any injury, illness, loss or damage that results from following Forma’s programs, targets, suggestions or content, or from using equipment while training. Nothing in this section removes rights the law gives you (see section 10).

4. Your license to use Forma

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Forma on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial training. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent or sublicense the app or any part of it. You may not reverse engineer or extract its source code except where the law expressly allows it. You may not scrape, export in bulk or republish the exercise library, skill trees, how-tos or form checks. You may not use bots, automation or anything else that interferes with the service, and you may not use Forma to build a competing product. If you break these rules we can suspend or close your account.

5. Content in the app

The exercise library, skill trees, progression rules, how-tos, form checks, design and code of Forma belong to Markuss Rencis and Eriks Kristians Selga (jointly) or to our licensors, and are protected by copyright and other laws. Nothing in these terms gives you ownership of any of it.

Exercise demo videos are YouTube videos made by their own creators, shown inside YouTube’s embedded player. We do not own or control them, they can change or disappear, and their availability depends on YouTube. By watching a demo you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google’s Privacy Policy applies to what happens inside the player. If a video is broken, wrong or inappropriate, tell us at hello@tryforma.co and we will look at it.

6. Your data

Your workouts, progress and answers are yours. You give us permission to store and process them to run Forma for you, as described in the Privacy Policy, and to use them in aggregated or anonymized form to improve the app. That permission ends when you delete your account, except for the aggregated, anonymized statistics that no longer identify you.

7. Price and purchases

Forma is currently free to download and contains no in-app purchases. If we introduce paid features, they will be sold through the App Store or Google Play under their rules, and we will update these terms and tell you before anything changes for you.

8. Changes, availability and early software

Forma is new software and it will change. We may add, alter or remove features, and we may interrupt the service for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. We aim to give notice before removing anything significant. We back up our database, but Forma is not a backup service. If a workout log matters to you beyond the app, keep your own copy.

9. Ending the agreement

You can stop using Forma at any time and delete your account from the Profile tab. We can suspend or terminate your access if you break these terms, use Forma unlawfully, or create a security or legal risk for us or other users. Where reasonable we will tell you why. When the agreement ends, your license ends and your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers and limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, Forma is provided as it is and as available, without warranties of any kind, and we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or that following it will produce any particular result. To the same extent, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, profits or opportunity, and our total liability to you for all claims together is limited to the greater of €100 and the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

If your breach of these terms or your unlawful use of Forma causes someone else to bring a claim against us, you will cover the reasonable costs of that claim, to the extent the law allows.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for breach of the rights consumers have under the mandatory law of the country where they live. If you are a consumer, you keep every right that law gives you, and these terms do not take any of them away.

11. Terms required by Apple

If you downloaded Forma from the App Store, the following also apply.

This agreement is between you and Forma only, not Apple. Forma, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content.

Your license is limited to a non-transferable license to use Forma on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in Apple’s App Store Terms of Service, except that Forma may be accessed and used by other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing or volume purchasing.

Forma, not Apple, is responsible for maintenance and support. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app.

Forma is responsible for any product warranties, express or implied by law, to the extent not disclaimed. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price you paid for the app, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.

Forma, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar law.

If a third party claims that the app infringes their intellectual property rights, Forma, not Apple, is responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of that claim.

You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated by the US Government as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

You must comply with any applicable third-party terms when using Forma, including the YouTube Terms of Service for demo videos.

Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement and may enforce it against you.

Questions or complaints about the app go to Forma (Markuss Rencis and Eriks Kristians Selga), hello@tryforma.co.

12. Google Play

If you downloaded Forma from Google Play, Google’s Play terms also apply to the download. Google is not a party to this agreement and is not responsible for the app.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Forma changes. The current version always lives at tryforma.co/terms with its effective date at the top. If a change is material, we tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Forma after that date, you accept the new terms. If you do not, stop using Forma and delete your account.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Latvia. If you are a consumer living in the European Union, you also have the protection of the mandatory laws of your own country, and you can bring a claim in the courts of your own country. Disputes that consumer protection rules do not cover are resolved by the courts of Riga, Latvia. If something goes wrong, write to us first at hello@tryforma.co and we will try to resolve it with you directly.

15. General

These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Forma about the app. If any part of them turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up. You may not transfer this agreement to anyone else. We may transfer it to a business that takes over Forma, and we will tell you if that happens.
